He could now be in line to make Chelsea's squad for the trip to Crystal Palace this Saturday.
Reece James is also working his way back to fitness, although it is unclear if he'll be allowed to play at Selhurst Park.
Fellow midfielder Mason Mount is expected to be out for at least a couple of weeks with an ankle injury.
