Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has reiterated that Malaysians from the low-income group who are aged 40 and above, and are also Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) recipients, can tap into free health screenings through the PeKa B40 programme.
“PeKa B40 aims to meet the health needs of the low-income group by focusing on non-communicable diseases,” said the minister via a video posted on his Facebook account, adding that no registration is required for the health screening.
Additionally, Khairy shared that aside from health screenings, the PeKa B40 programme also offers other perks, including medical device assistance (up to RM20,000 of equipment value), incentives to complete cancer treatments (worth RM1,000), and transport incentives (up to RM1,000). He also said that Malaysians can check their eligibility for the programme and the location of participating clinics via the PeKa B40 official website.
The PeKa B40 programme is a healthcare protection scheme that was first introduced during the tabling of Budget 2019, before it was further upgraded under Budget 2020. It is managed by ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of ProtectHealth Malaysia, which is itself established under the Ministry of Health (MOH).
