Survive the adult world with these basic and easy-to-cook dishes!

At one point in time, we should all know how to cook certain dishes by heart. We shouldn’t be able to look at recipes and instructions on how to cook a dish unless it’s a new one.

If you were once a student who used to move several states or countries away to study, then you can relate. As you are living on your own, then it’s quite likely you should be able to cook something.

It cannot be that you’ll eat out every day, right? Eating out every day can get very expensive in the long run. Not forgetting to mention you’ll get a whole host of diseases relating to high salt content and high MSG content.

Having said all of that, here are some dishes you should be able to cook yourself.

1. Eggs

Eggs are the easiest food to cook, to be honest. You can fry them, boil them, or even scramble them. There is a myriad of ways to prepare and cook egg dishes. Not forgetting to mention, it packs a whole lot of healthy proteins too.

If you are low on budget, eggs are a cheap option to cook for food. All you need to do is to fry an egg and eat it with kicap and rice. It’s filling and budget-friendly too.

2. One vege dish

Vegetables aren’t very complicated to prepare. In my humble opinion, the cucumber is perhaps the easiest vegetable to prepare. You can just slice it up and eat it with your meals. Or you can also eat it as a snack.

If you want to cook a vegetable, why not try cooking a stir fry? Like leafy vegetables for example. You can cut it into smaller pieces and cook it with garlic in a stir fry. Add a bit of salt and you’re good to go.

See how easy it is to cook vegetables? You also get your daily dose of vitamins and minerals for your body too.

3. Sandwiches

Sandwiches are fast and easy to make because most times the ingredients are easily available. Most times they are also within an affordable price range. You don’t have to burn a hole in your bank account just to buy ingredients to make a sandwich either.

We are not talking about avocados because those cost a bomb!

However, you can consider cooking an egg and putting some sliced (local) cheese on it. It’s fast and simple. You’ll complete making a sandwich within a few minutes. You wouldn’t make a mess in your kitchen either.

4. Instant noodles

I’m not exactly for preparing instant noodles and having them frequently. In quite a several studies, instant noodles will have negative impacts and effects on your body if you have them every single day. However, having it every once in a while is fine though.

On the stovetop, all you need to do is to fill a pot with water. Adjust the water level accordingly if you are cooking either noodles with soup base or non-soup ones.

Bring your water to a boil and put in your noodles. If it’s soup base, you can put the seasoning packets in the pot with the noodles and all. For non-soup instant noodles, put the seasoning packets on a bowl or plate instead.

You can also add other food to it like vegetables, eggs, and whatnot. Having only the noodles are boring.

When the noodles are cooked, you can transfer them to a plate or bowl. Enjoy your instant noodles.

Key Takeaway

Knowing how to cook these easy dishes will make your life a lot easier. You don’t always have to rely on other people to prepare your food for you either.
