Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris admits he's drawing inspiration from Brad Friedel as he seeks to extend his career.

The 34 year-old has recently signed a new deal to 2024.

He told The Times: “My story with Tottenham was a story I wanted to continue. It was really clear in my mind.

"I've shown loyalty to the club and that's really important to me.

"It was really important after nine and a half years to understand if I am ready to continue at this high level. The mind is very important in sport. If you feel fresh in your mind, it helps the body to follow. Many goalkeepers in the past prove that you can play at a high level until very late. I was very impressed when I arrived at Tottenham to see Brad Friedel playing and training [at 41] like a 30-year-old player."
