FC Copenhagen sports director Peter Christiansen admits they made an attempt for Christian Eriksen before he signed for Brentford.
The former Inter Milan midfielder signed for the Bees last month and had a first training session with the squad yesterday.
Christiansen said, "For me, he is a player of the highest class, and it is clear that we must go in and ask such a person and hear where he is; of course with respect for his entire situation.
"I think he has landed a good place for himself."
Eriksen has signed with Brentford to the end of this season.
