Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler applied for the Hammarby IF job, it has been revealed.
Hammarby have justed named Marti Cifuentes as new coach, though Fowler also threw his hat into the ring, says Sportbladet.
Fowler last coached the Indian team East Bengal.
Hammarby sports director Jesper Jansson said: "It always happens that when there is a coaching job available, you get a number of different names. We got it this time too.
"I do not intend to comment on any names, but I can say that a couple were very surprising."
