BELURAN: Beluran Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) succeeded in rescuing three victims reported missing at the Kg Cahaya Baru estuary near here on Sunday evening.

Head of BBP Beluran PPgB Rastam Keladi said they received a distress call about the incident at 8:05 pm and then rushed to the spot.

“According to the caller, the three victims had left at 8 a.m. to look for clams, but they did not return and were believed lost,” he said.

“The three victims are men Mohamad Norfek Mohd Akmal, 12, Mohamad Nor randi Patrik, 22, and Abdul Ghani Kayai, 64.

“Firefighters have set out to gather preliminary information and search the land and the mangrove swamp coast with a boat owned by the villagers,” he said in a statement to the media, Sunday.

All victims were found safe and sound the same day, an hour after the search operation began, 5 kilometres from the distance where they had been reported missing.
