Yesterday, at about 6.30pm, a drunk lorry driver on the Pasir Gudang highway collided into 5 cars on the opposite side of the road killing a 21-year-old at the wheel.
Based on reports, the 37-year-old lorry driver was heading to Johor Bahru from Pasir Gudang when he skidded onto the opposite lane, hitting a Myvi, an Axia, an Alza, a Waja and a Wira.
The driver of the Alza, a 21-year-old was severely injured and sent to the hospital for treatment, before passing on.
"The 46-year-old Waja driver is still receiving treatments at Hospital Sultan Ismail and the other drivers did not sustain any injuries. They then urgent to the police station to make their respective reports", said Superintendent District Police Mohd Sohaimi Ishak.
He also noted that prior investigations did conclude the suspect to be driving under the influence of alcohol.
