Everton manager Frank Lampard has offered an update on right-back Nathan Patterson.
The defender arrived from Rangers in the January transfer window, but has not received a chance to impress as yet.
Lampard was asked about Patterson as he prepares his side for a Premier League game against Southampton on Saturday.
According to journalist Patrick Boyland, Lampard responded: "Nathan is a young player that we have a lot of hopes for in the long term.
"But we have competition - Seamus has been brilliant. Nathan will get his chance.
"He's a young player and his time will certainly come."
