Kota Kinabalu: Police have found no indications of Lahad Datu's intrusion by armed Filipinos as claimed recently although a police report has been received on the matter, said Deputy Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun.
He said a police report was received in Lahad Datu on the allegation that a group of armed Filipinos dressed in a soldier’s uniform had infiltrated the district through the waters of Long Patau, Tambisan Island.
Jauteh, in a press conference today, said the police, the Eastern Sabah Security Command and other security agencies have begun investigations after receiving the information.
“So far, we have found no indications as reported on the existence of such individuals.
"However, we do not take the report by the community lightly," he said, adding that they are continuing their intelligence gathering and will further investigate the authenticity of the information.
