Malaysia sees another 5-digit Covid-19 cases with 21,072

KUALA LUMPUR – It is another day of five-digit daily Covid-19 caseload for Malaysia with the country logging 21,072 cases, bringing the cumulative total to 3,040,235.

Of today’s cases, 20,986 (99.59%) are in Categories 1 and 2 – 5,995 (28.45%) in Category 1 and 14,991 (71.14%) in Category 2.

Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 86 cases are in the more severe categories – Category 3 (58 cases - 0.28%), Category 4 (20 - 0.09%) and eight infections in Category 5.

Meanwhile, Sabah Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun tweeted that the state saw a slight dip in cases with 3,891 new infections but warned it “may well be a short reprieve”.

He added that sporadic infection or symptomatic patients make up 58.52% of the total cases.

Some 99.74% of today’s cases are in Categories 1 and 2, followed by four patients each in Categories 3 and 4, while two are classified as Category 5. – The Vibes, February 13, 2022
