Watford defender Kiko Femenia says victory at Aston Villa was for the fans.
Emmanuel Dennis' second-half header ensured the three points would be returning to Hertfordshire, after a resolute Watford defence kept the Villans at bay.
“I think it's a season where we've been conceding quite a lot of goals but it's not only due to the defence, we need to work together as a team. When we defend our goal we have to defend together, and when we attack we need to attack together," said Spaniard Femenia.
“We needed the three points, we knew how difficult this game was going to be but we've been solid in defence and were able to get the goal, which is very important now as we prepare for our next game.
“We wanted to win the game for everyone; for the fans and for ourselves, and for the hard work we did during the week. Now we have to stay humble and go into the next game as we did today.
“It's very important, unfortunately many times we didn't manage to make them [the supporters] happy but today fortunately we did. The reality is, they are very important for us because they are behind us as we try to win every game."
