BEAUFORT: A needy female senior citizen from Kg Lubok Weston, here, is hoping that the State Government could provide her a Hardcore Poor Housing Project (PPRT) home.

Dg Kaling Talip, 60, who said her current house is dilapidated, is worried that the house will collapse from strong winds.

“I have tried to apply to the Government but it was not approved on the grounds that I have no income,” she told Daily Express, Sunday.

She had tried to register with the e-Kasih welfare aid as well but was rejected due to unreasonable grounds of being single.

Dg Kaling relies on the compassion from other villagers for sustenance which at times is not even enough to buy rice, as she saves most of her money for electricity and water bills.

“Indeed, I have siblings, but they also live in hardship and it is difficult for them to help me,” she said.

She thanked the Weston Charity Team who came to check on her condition and donated her some money.

“I hope the Government, especially Lumadan Assemblyman Ruslan Muharam and Sipitang MP Hafiz Yamani Musa will resolve this matter,” she said.

Weston Charity Team Chairman Farah Madzin expressed sympathy for Dg Kaling and hoped that the Chairman of the Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) and government leaders would take the best action for her.
