Newcastle United are eager to extend the contract of Fabian Schar.
The 30-year-old had played only twice this term before boss Eddie Howe took over from Steve Bruce.
However, he has been present for all but one game under Howe, and is now in line for a new contract.
Journalist Ekrem Konur claims that Newcastle want to extend Schar for a further two seasons.
When asked about Schar back in December, manager Howe was full of praise, suggesting he would welcome such a move.
