Kota Kinabalu: Very few children, only some 2.35 percent of those eligible, have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Sabah, according to an update.

As of yesterday, only 9,686 children ages five to 11, out of 411,400 eligible, have received their shots, said the update shared by Sabah's spokesman for the crisis Datuk Masidi Manjun.

"This is a very low figure considering the high risk of children below 11 infected with Covid everyday," said the update.

"Today, 272 new patients (out of 4,035) were children five to 11 years old. Parents are encouraged to take the initiative to vaccinate their kids so they get maximum protection against Covid-19 infection."
