Lille defender Sven Botman admits he was attracted by the Newcastle United "project".
Botman confirmed both Newcastle and AC Milan made attempts for him in January.
He told Ziggo Sport: "Everyone says that it's all about money when they talk about Newcastle. But it is a very nice project, if you look at where Manchester City and PSG started. I think it would be very nice to be a part of it, but Milan is a beautiful club.
"I feel good in Lille at the moment. I guess I will take a good step in my career next summer.
"You never know in football. This time, both Newcastle and Milan were in very concrete talks (with Lille). Both clubs have their positive sides."
