Former Barcelona sporting director Ramon Planes admits they considered hiring Roberto De Zerbi when he was still in charge of Sassuolo.
De Zerbi left Sassuolo for Shakhtar Donetsk last summer.
Planes recalled, "His style is suitable for Barcelona, he is similar to Guardiola.
“It's something that a coach must have to coach a team like Barcelona. We spoke to him in the past and I think that in the future, Barcelona will think about him again."
Planes left his position at Barca earlier this season.
