Everton boss Frank Lampard is delighted counting on Duncan Ferguson as part of his staff.

Ferguson's second spell as Everton's temporary boss is now over after Lampard was confirmed as Rafa Benitez's permanent replacement.

His first spell in caretaker control saw the Blues legend get one over his new manager in December 2019.

Back then Everton ran out 3-1 winners at a super-charged Goodison Park against a Chelsea side managed by Lampard.

Lampard said: "I'm delighted to work alongside Duncan. I've seen him from afar... well, actually close up a couple of years ago when Everton beat Chelsea! We had a good laugh about that in the last couple of days.

"He's a club legend. He's a person the players respect, the club respect, the fans respect, and I can only help myself from tapping into his experience and knowledge.

"I'm very open and accommodating and there's no way I would do anything that's not the best for this job. I've really enjoyed having Duncan around these past couple of days."
