
KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia recorded a total of 24,466 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, down 2,833 cases from the 27,299 cases logged on February 26.
There are also 300,653 active cases, with 246 imported cases and 484 active clusters, as well as 40 new deaths nationwide.
Selangor recorded the highest number of infections yesterday at 6,823, followed by Sabah with 2,874 cases, Kedah with 2,060, Johor with 1,818 Penang with 1,548, Negri Sembilan with 1,520, Pahang with 1,461, Perak with 1,330, Kelantan with 1,146, and Kuala Lumpur with 1,123.
Meanwhile, other states in the country recorded cases within the hundreds, while nationwide recovery saw 27,710 individuals shaking off the virus.
The Health Ministry also found five new clusters, with two education clusters designated as the Simpang 5 Batu Pahat cluster and the Jalan Besar Tangkak cluster.
The others are known as the Jalan Tahana Sembilan cluster, the Jalan Tanjung Enam 2 cluster, and the Tolokoson Kem Dua cluster.
Meanwhile, ten states and two federal territories have registered more than 50% occupancy of intensive care units.
They are Kuala Lumpur (82%), Johor (74.6%), Sabah (74.1%), Kelantan (71.5%), Putrajaya (70%), Perak (63.7%), Penang (63%), Selangor (62.1%), Melaka (56.5%), Terengganu (54.1%), Kedah (53.4%), and Perlis (52.6%), with 13 new patients requiring ventilator assistance. – The Vibes, February 28, 2022
