Burnley boss Sean Dyche was pleased with their 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.

Dyche was pleased with the second-half performance from his Burnley side as Aaron Lennon's equaliser earned a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Dyche said: “I wasn't too disappointed with the first-half. We just didn't find the true rhythm and the tempo of our game. It was a little bit lackluster, and we took a bit of time to settle down.

“But in the second-half, I thought that we put in a real strong display to go and get a result.

“I don't feel we've been far off from competing over the course of the season, we've gone so close to getting the second, we've hit the bar, they've hit the post.

“It's always tough coming down to this ground, and I know we've done well here in the last few seasons, but I thought the mentality was firm.

“We just didn't ask enough questions in the first-half, we were a bit soft and a bit slow with the ball too many times, and in the second-half we really got at them, pushed them on the back foot on numerous occasions and played our own game.

“The response at half-time was terrific and to go about it with such a clear mentality and get the goal, set the tone for us.

“We've been getting the details right, the shape is good, the energy is good, the commitment to the cause is good and some of the play has been really good as well."
