Kota Kinabalu: Two Barisan Nasional components, MCA and PBRS, are against the proposal to issue a “Kad Warga Asing” (Foreigner Card) to undocumented foreigners, saying it will only legitimise their stay in Sabah and Malaysia.
Only Sabah Umno and Sabah MIC have yet to make a stand. Sabah Umno was against a similar proposal by the previous Warisan-Plus State Government and won the Kimanis by-election by exploiting the issue, among others.
