Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is convinced about the potential of Jorge Alvarez.
The Argentina striker signed for City on deadline day before being loaned back to River Plate until June.
Guardiola said, "I'm sure Manchester City have done an incredible deal.
"Julian is a player who moves very well. He scores similar goals to (Jamie) Vardy. We will see what will happen in the future."
There is talk of River seeking to extend Alvarez's loan to December.
