Former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson says the board needs to make a special effort to keep Kalvin Phillips.
Robinson believes that any new contract should see Phillips made the highest paid player at Elland Road.
"He should be the highest-paid player at the club," he said.
"He's the best player that they've got, as well as Raphinha, and if they are to keep hold of him then they need to reward him in such a manner.
"He was the best player in the England team [at the Euros] and if you look at the rest of his England teammates, they're competing at the top of the Premier League and in the Champions League. It's not going to be long before he wants to and needs to do that himself.
"If he's at that standard and Leeds want to keep him, they reward him as such."
