New Salernitana boss Davide Nicola says he takes the job full of confidence of staying up.

“I don't do this job because of contracts. I am only focused on the next three months, I will think about what comes next at the right time," former Torino coach Nicola said at his unveiling press conference.
“This is an important team, there is great affection from fans. I can work with a great staff, Simone Barone who will be one of my assistants. The coach is important, but I'd go nowhere alone.
“There are great professionals here and we'll try to reach our target, which is Serie A survival. The players are committed and this is crucial. They are aware that we need something different to turn things around.
“We must have high motivation because we face a top team. We must keep our identity regardless of the opponent, we look to the target with courage and organisation.
“I don't know what we will obtain this season, but we must believe that we can reach the target. We must change, but we can get great satisfaction."
