Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo has absolved manager Pep Guardiola of blame over his slow start at Etihad stadium.
Cancelo is now regarded among the best wing-backs in the world, though he had a slow start to his career in England.
He recalled: "There were complications with the coach, with the way the team played. I had a different way of playing at Juventus. I would enjoy football and enjoy playing.
"It was my responsibility more than the coach's, it was my fault. I rediscovered my will to win in life and in football."
Cancelo also said: "Italy was very important for my career. Inter and Juve, two huge clubs. Pep has had huge significance for me tactically.
"Technically I have always been good, tactically I improved a lot in Italy. It was a time for learning. I liked living in Turin and Milan."
