Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Law Society (SLS) wants competent authorities or relevant enforcement agencies to explain how a person who was charged with misappropriation of public funds to the whopping tune of RM32 million can obtain a discharge by simply paying a RM30 million compound and face no further consequences.
This is especially when the very availability of RM30 million to pay the compound, itself, lies at the very heart of the charges faced.
