Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has questioned coach Simone Inzaghi's performance after their Champions League elimination at Liverpool.

Inter won 1-0 at Anfield this week, but lost the tie 2-1 on aggregate.

Inzaghi was criticised for his substitutions after Alexis Sanchez was sent off and his team reduced to 10 men, introducing only Joaquin Correa for Lautaro Martinez.

Edin Dzeko, Robin Gosens and Felipe Caicedo all remained on the bench throughout at Anfield.

Moratti lamented: “We threw that opportunity away, because with a bit more courage at the end perhaps we could've done something more."
