England cruised to a comfortable 3-0 friendly win over Ivory Coast at Wembley on Tuesday night.

Borussia Dortmund teenager Jude Bellingham was the standout performer as the Three Lions backed up their win over Switzerland last weekend.

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins took advantage of his start by breaking the deadlock with a simple tap-in thanks to a cross from Raheem Sterling.

Manchester City ace Sterling got in on the act to make it 2-0 on the stroke of half-time.

The goal came after Tottenham loanee Serge Aurier was shown a second yellow-card for dissent.

A header from Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings sealed the victory deep into stoppage time.

With Harry Kane on the bench, Sterling wore the captain's armband for the match and couldn't have been prouder when speaking after the game.

He said: "It is a great privilege and never in my wildest imagination as a young player coming thorugh did I think I would captain England one day, it comes with maturity the manager sees in you, the passion and love I have for the country.

"I always have this thing where I remember me coming through as young player andit is nice when senior players put their arm around you, it is a new environment and all we can do is make sure the new ones feel as comfortable as possible.

"We continue to try to build, one game at a time, wait for the summer and put some good performances in."
