The Scottish Daily Express says Brighton assistant technical director David Weir - a former star at Ibrox - has sent scouts to watch Wilson.
He is extremely highly rated by scouts throughout Europe, and the 16-year-old could move as soon as this summer.
However, Rangers have not been told by Wilson that he wants to go, and they are hopeful that he will stay with the club for the immediate future.
