Because current SD-WAN and secure access solutions for the hybrid work force lack automation, MSPs have struggled to deliver SASE services cost-effectively at scale, necessitating manual configuration and support for heterogeneous products and API models. Palo Alto Networks addressed this issue by introducing new features for Prisma® SASE that are specifically built for MSPs, such as a hierarchical multitenant cloud management portal and an open API architecture.
Prisma SASE's new cloud-based management portal with hierarchical multitenancy capability uses granular role-based access control (RBAC) — which MSPs have lacked until now — to give MSPs the flexibility to manage multiple customers with different needs while maintaining control over the entire SASE services lifecycle.

Identity and access management (IAM) enables MSPs to utilise their identity stores to avoid duplication of users and roles across different systems, thereby significantly strengthening network security and governance.

Flexible service creation provides MSPs the flexibility to create a catalogue of differentiated offerings and easily assign these new services to their hierarchical customer set, providing a highly customisable SASE solution for their customers.
