Kota Kinabalu: FORMER Chief Minister Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee urged the Sabah Government to take a new approach in tacking the worsening child beggar issue in the State.
“We have the laws and policies, as well as enforcement agencies and departments, but this issue has yet to be resolved. In fact, it has become rampant,” he said in the State Assembly, Tuesday.
Yong, a Nominated Assemblyman, said the problem, which had been prevalent in the east coast districts, had now spread to the State Capital – at Centre Point and Api-Api Centre, among others.
