Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl criticised Mohamed Salisu after Sunday's loss to Manchester City.

Saints were holding their own with the scores at 1-1 until Mohamed Salisu gave away a penalty for a clumsy challenge on Gabriel Jesus.

City ran away 4-1 winners, and Hasenhuttl was annoyed with Salisu for his tackle.

"It was more the fact that we made mistakes like Sali's penalty where he's running out of the box," he said.

"There is no need to make this (tackle) and it's a clear penalty for me. And if you give them such a chance, you can't be surprised. Against such a team it's not possible to give them chances like that."
