‘Time to re-strategise, march on’: Warisan on losing Johor polls

KOTA KINABALU – Losing all six seats contested in the Johor polls yesterday, Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) is not losing hope and is now set to strategise for the 15th general election.

Its president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal said that the party is not giving up despite their defeat in the polls, which saw all their candidates failing to receive enough votes to retrieve their deposits.

“The election did not turn out the way we had hoped, but time was simply not on our side.

“This is not the time for us to give up. It is the time for us to re-strategise and march on to prepare for the 15th general election. Our struggle for a better Malaysia continues,” he said in a statement today.

Shafie congratulated Barisan Nasional on their victory and thanked the people of Johor for welcoming Warisan into the state.

He also thanked all who had campaigned tirelessly for Warisan.

The Johor election is the first time Warisan contested outside of Sabah after the party expanded to West Malaysia on December 17, last year.  – The Vibes, March 13, 2022
