SEMPORNA: A fire in Kg Perigi-Jalan Pinggir Bakau, here, Sunday, destroyed four houses.
According to Semporna Fire and Rescue Station Chief Edoen Macheal, an emergency call via MERS999 was received at 9.06 am.
Ten firemen rushed to the scene two kilometres away. The fire was brought under control at 9.46 am and at 11.41 am, it was completely contained.
“No casualties were reported. We’re looking into the cause and the estimated loss,” he said.
Police, Rela, Civil Defence Force, and Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd personnel were also on hand to assist.
