Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has suffered an injury with Uruguay.

Uruguay booked their spot in Qatar as a 2-0 win over Chile saw them clinch automatic World Cup qualification on Tuesday thanks to Luis Suarez and Federico Valverde's late strikes.

But Cavani's game was cut short as he was forced to leave the pitch after just 29 minutes with an injury.

The 35-year-old reportedly felt pain in his right calf and immediately sat down on the pitch, before calling to be substituted and being replaced by goalscorer Suarez.

He left the pitch in obvious discomfort and headed straight for the substitutes bench.
