KENINGAU: Firefighters managed to rescue a 59-year-old who got trapped in his Isuzu Invader that skidded and plunged 10 feet down into a river in Kampung Liau Darat, Apin-Apin-Keningau road, here, Sunday night.
Keningau (Zone 4) Fire and Rescue Department Chief Yuszaimi Hairrul Azwan Juatan said the district Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 8.23pm about the incident.
“Eleven firefighters led by Operations Officer Raizaain Awang Damit @ Malik rushed to the scene some 12km away,” he said.
He said the man who was trapped in the vehicle did not suffer any injuries and was successfully removed by firefighters and sent to the Keningau Hospital in an EMRS (Emergency Medical Rescue Services) vehicle for examination, adding the operation ended at 9.03pm.
