Kota Kinabalu: Malaysia Chinese Chamber of Commerce - Young Entrepreneurs Committee (MCCC-YEC) Sabah Branch - has a new line-up led by its new Chairman Ar James Wong Kein Peng who won uncontested during the recent annual general meeting, here.
His predecessor Datuk Dexter Lau passed on the mantle of chairmanship of the chamber to James where the members pledged to give their full support and cooperation for him to lead the MCCC-YEC Sabah branch.
James, is also the brother of former Australian Finance Minister Senator Penny Wong, and son of Ar Francis Wong with a long history of public service with the Kota Kinabalu Municipal Council (MPKK).
James pledged to build and strengthen the chamber into a strong entrepreneurial network in the years to come, emphasising three key areas of focus:
To build a powerful Network of Young Entrepreneurs across Sabah consisting of captains of industries and leaders of their respective fields.
Provide high value business education and learning to its members through inviting quality international speakers to mentor, guide, and share.
Be a platform of close friendship, trust, and respect amongst business owners to support each other during times of tough challenges.
He said he is confident in achieving them with the help of his new committee.
“I am no longer afraid to serve on this committee, because every single one of these committee members are highly capable in their own right, captains and leaders of their respective industries, and I am very proud to serve alongside them. I pledge to help grow, promote, and build the quality of the association and its members as one of my key goals as chairman.” James said.
He also thanked Dexter for his years of service and immense contributions to the association and described the latter as a leader, mentor and through his guidance helped MCCC-YEC to grow strong over the years.
“Without Dexter we would not be where we are today.” said James.
The new committee members are as follows: Chairman: Ar. James Wong Kein Peng, Chairman Mentor (Advisor): Datuk Dexter Lau, Deputy Chairman: Shawn Tan. Vice Chairman: Wong Oi Yee Vice Chairman: Lim Eng Ming. Secretary General: is Yee Tsai Yiew. Deputy Secretary General: Edwin Teo Tze Vui. Treasurer: Terrance Sak Yaw San Vice Treasurer: Yong Hui Sun.
