Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard believes midfielder Douglas Luiz deserves more credit for his fighting spirit.
The Brazilian was playing through the pain barrier for Villa against West Ham United in the Premier League at the weekend.
Luiz got a kick to the mouth from Manuel Lanzini in the first half of the game, but went on until the 79th minute for his team.
Gerrard said, per Express and Star: "It was very impressive and it's a side of his game nobody gives him enough credit for.
"That's the type of character I want. When you come to tough places, you stand up and when the game demands bumps and bruises, you stay in for the fight right until the end."
