BLand signs MoU to develop Gaya, Sapi, Bohey Dulang for eco-tourism

KOTA KINABALU – Berjaya Land Bhd (BLand) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sabapak Eco Sdn Bhd to develop and transform part of the Gaya, Sapi, and Bohey Dulang islands into eco-tourism destinations.

BLand CEO Syed Ali Shahul Hameed said the upgrading of infrastructure and amenities, as well as the development of an eco-luxury hotel and residences, will create more jobs and business opportunities for the local communities.

“The project is expected to contribute to the economic growth of Sabah, in particular the Sapi, Gaya, and Bohey Dulang islands.”

The signing ceremony was held by the Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry here between Syed Ali and Sabapak Eco chairman Datuk Jumat Idris. This was witnessed by Berjaya Corporation Bhd chairman Tan Sri Vincent Tan and Sabapak Eco general manager Muhd Amir Pawennari. 

Also in attendance were state Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin, the ministry’s permanent secretary Datuk Yusrie Abdullah, Sabah Parks’ board of trustees chairman Datuk Askalani Abdul Rahim, and Sabah Parks director Maklarim Lakim. – The Vibes, March 28, 2022
