Police to beef up borders when they reopen on April 1: Bukit Aman

BATU PAHAT – Police will station more enforcement officers at the country’s borders on April 1 to ensure that only genuinely eligible visitors are allowed to enter, said Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department director Datuk Aidi Ismail today.

Aidi said this is done to control the spread of Covid-19 infection across borders.

He said the reinforcement involves the country’s main entrances, including airports, to ensure that travellers strictly comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

“The department will always be in touch with other departments to ensure enforcement of SOPs is implemented, including with assistance from personnel in Bukit Aman.

“When the borders are reopened, many tourists will enter the country and have to abide by the SOPs set by the government,” he said here today. – Bernama, March 17, 2022
