SANDAKAN: Underprivileged students attending community colleges, polytechnics and public and private institutes of higher learning will receive 3,500 to 4,000 free laptops worth RM450 million from the Communications and Multimedia Ministry. Applications for the laptops will be open through the Ministry’s portal starting April 15, with the first phase of distribution likely in June, according to its Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa.
“It will be managed by a dedicated team from the Ministry that will work with the Ministry of Education, as well as public and private institutions, to ensure proper distribution,” he told a press conference after attending a get-together with the Komuniti Keluarga Malaysia at Taman Harmoni Sandakan PPR Hall, here, on Saturday.
