Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is being linked with Roberto Mancini's Italy job.
Mancini's position is under threat after Italy's World Cup qualifying failure last night against North Macedonia.
FIGC chiefs have insisted Mancini's job is safe, but La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting replacements are being sounded out.
Fabio Cannavaro is regarded as favourite, though Ancelotti is also a candidate.
With Italy now out of the World Cup in Qatar, Ancelotti won't need to take up the reins until after this season's commitments with Real Madrid are completed.
