Tottenham Hotspur have opened the door for recently retired striker Jermain Defoe to carve out a new role at the club.
Defoe spent many years at Spurs, during a career that amassed 304 goals in 762 games across all his clubs.
The 39-year-old retired from the game, having signed for Sunderland in January.
Defoe is now taking his coaching badges, per the Daily Mail, and will be allowed by Spurs to complete that work at their training facility in Enfield.
If everything goes to plan, Defoe may even sign on as a coach in the summer.
