KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysians who have been marked as casual contacts will no longer see a change in their MySejahtera risk status starting today (Mar 1).

Instead, they will receive a notification reminding them to monitor their condition and do a self-test if they have symptoms.

The matter was confirmed by the Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin in a tweet.

Previously when MySJ Trace or Check-Ins detected that you had been exposed to a positive case, your risk status will change to casual contact (yellow).

“From today onwards, your risk status will not change anymore. You will be notified otherwise. If you have symptoms, please isolate and test,” he said.

Unlike close contacts, casual contacts are usually considered as individuals who pose minimum risk and are allowed to move around freely.

From March 1 onwards, they are also not required to undergo quarantine if they have completed their booster shot and are asymptomatic. However, they are to do a self-test on Day 1 and Day 3.
