ULU TIRAM: Barisan Nasional’s victory in the Johor State Election proves BN /Umno is still relevant in the hearts of the people.
Sabah BN Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin (pic) said the victory gives the spirit for BN to continue to move forward to face the 15th General Election. He said, the people of Johor have already made a clear decision on who they choose to govern the state.
Bung said it was not important whether it was a small or big victory, as the people’s wishes through the ballot paper had been expressed.
“BN’s victory in winning 40 out of 56 seats not only reflects the wishes of Johor people but clear evidence that BN/Umno is still relevant in the hearts of the people,” he said. Commenting on the victory of the Angkat seats that were taken care of by Sabah Umno, Bung, who is also the Sabah Umno chief, he was thankful that the two state seats – Tiram and Permas – were captured by the opposition party which was previously held by PKR.
“Even though we missed two Johor Jaya and Puteri Wangsa constituencies that we had expected earlier due to the fact that the majority of voters are mostly Chinese but the success of contributing two seats is quite meaningful,” he said.
Bung also expressed appreciation to the BN machinery from Sabah and the local BN machinery who worked hard for two weeks to help BN candidates in the area.
