New Everton football chief Kevin Thelwell has convinced Dan Purdy to return.

Purdy has completed a return to Everton just over three months after leaving the club in December 2021.

Training Ground Guru reports he has been persuaded to return to Everton by new director of football Thelwell following his appointment last month. Purdy will now begin his second spell at the club as Scouting and Operations Manager.

He initially spent seven-and-a-half years with Everton, starting as a performance analyst intern and rising through the ranks to become manager of scouting and operations before he left.

His departure came shortly after Marcel Brands left in December 2021 following a power struggle with then-manager Rafael Benitez, who wanted more control over recruitment.
