Former Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano admits Luis Diaz's success with Liverpool has surprised him.
Valdano says he's long been a fan of the former Porto attacker.
He said, "I was surprised by the incredible speed with which he adapted to the Premier League and the game of Liverpool.
"It is a demanding championship but the club knew very well the characteristics of his game.
"As a player he is continuous, a constant threat to rivals. The truth is that it is one of the biggest surprises of international football in recent years.
"(Jurgen) Klopp has certainly contributed to his rapid adaptation, but let's not forget that he was followed by many top-level clubs."
