Everton defender Ben Godfrey is convinced his game will improve under manager Frank Lampard.
After returning for last Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers, the defender helped Everton to a crucial 1-0 win over Newcastle United on Thursday and he is hoping to make up for lost time under the new boss.
Godfrey said: “I was looking forward to working with him as soon as he came in. He has loads of experience and so much I can learn from. He is doing his best to take my game onto the next level. Obviously it was frustrating picking up an injury so early on with the new manager coming in. It's nice to be back and to try and help the boys.
“He was definitely one of my idols when I was young. He's great to play under, he fills you with confidence and I think all the lads will agree with me. Of course he is inspirational.
"He knows what we're going through. He's been through everything 10 times over that we're going through as players, the ups and downs, he knows the game inside out and has so much knowledge that he can teach us."
