Tottenham Hotspur have moved to within two points of fifth-placed Manchester United after a win over Brighton at the AMEX.

Brighton looked threatening in the first-half but it was Tottenham who hit the lead through centre-back Cristian Romero.

The Argentine is growing every game in a Spurs jersey and he scored from a deflection off Dejan Kulusevski's strike after 37 minutes.

The second-half saw Harry Kane double Tottenham's lead with 57 minutes played.

The England captain raced onto a pinpoint through ball from Rodrigo Bentancur before firing past Roberto Sanchez.

Kane now has a new record with his 95th goal away from home in the Premier League.

It was the perfect response from Spurs after their loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford last week.

They are now two points behind the Red Devils and possess a game in hand.

Meanwhile, the Seagulls have now lost six straight Premier League games.

Graham Potter's side remain 10 points from the relegation zone.
