Manchester City will pay £35,000 to subsidise fans' travel to the FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool at Wembley.
The six-time winners were drawn against Liverpool in a blockbuster tie on the weekend of April 16/17.
But Network Rail's planned engineering works for the Easter weekend - in the pipeline for two years - mean there are no direct trains from Manchester to London.
Liverpool supporters also face travel chaos coming from Merseyside, leading to calls for the match to be staged at Old Trafford instead.
If the game takes place on the Saturday - which appears most likely - the last train home for Liverpool fans will be at 7.35pm - just minutes after the full-time whistle.
However, the FA insist it will go ahead at Wembley as planned.
City have confirmed they have secured an initial 50 coaches to help transport supporters from Manchester and back on the day of the game.
The club state prices for a seat on one of the coaches will be £40 per person.
